On Saturday, May 12th, Edinburgh-based event marketing specialists, Blue Branch travelled to London to attend the eagerly anticipated UK Sales & Marketing awards, an annual event held to recognise the efforts of the industries top performers and rising stars.
Unlike last year’s exclusive Black Tie event, this year was a more inclusive ceremony, held at the Royal Festival Hall. Opened in 1951 as part of the Festival of Britain, the Grade I listed Hall is one of the world’s leading performance venues with a capacity of 2500 in the auditorium.
The awards ceremony is the stand out event in the direct sales and marketing industry calendar, and in the weeks leading up to it, there was a real sense of anticipation and excitement at the Edinburgh-based event-marketing specialists, Blue Branch. Business owners and industry professionals from all across the UK travelled to London to attend the annual event. Leading figures in the industry flew in from Australia, the US and South Africa to be in attendance.
The ceremony got underway at 11 a.m. with a laser and pyro display, before one of the UK’s leading figures took to the stage to start the introductions. There were many awards given out on the day, with multiple individuals receiving Top Performer and Rising Star awards. A select group of individuals received the Brand Ambassador of the Year Award as recognition of the great work they have done on behalf of clients. The most high profile awards given out were; Recruiter of the Year, Comeback Business Owner of the Year, Rookie Business Owner of the Year, Most Improved Business Owner of the Year and the highly coveted Business Owner of the Year award.
In between the awards, there were speeches from some of the industries most influential figures from South Africa the US and the UK. There was also a presentation from a finance provider who many of the attendees currently represent. There were also t-shirt guns fired into the audience in between the speeches and awards, inserting an element of fun into the event.
Speaking after the ceremony, Ms Noumaan stated, “the speeches this year were incredibly hard hitting and motivating, and the winners were very inspiring, and I could tell the impact it had on everyone.”
Managing Director at Blue Branch, Rania Noumaan returned from the awards gala with a fresh sense of motivation, and she has seen a noticeable impact on the firm’s contractors who were in attendance.
